18th european contest

 

The Contest

The 18th European Contest will take place on July 19th in the Gap Theater « la Passerelle ». (all candidates must be less than 20 years old to participate).
The price of the registration is 80€ (please register on the « registration » page of the website, and choose « European Contest »). Once we received your payment, we will send you a confirmation email with two attached documents. First, the Regulations of the European Contest, second, an information form about yourself. Please print out these two documents, read them carefully and fill them up, sign then and return them to the indicated address. Your registration will then be complete.

1st Prize : one Selmer Saxophone, a free registration for next year’s 20th edition of the UES, the possibility of performing a solo concert next year in Gap

Program :

First Round :
1 : « Notturno » and « Marche des Trolls » (from the Pièces Lyriques op.54), Edouard Grieg (arranged by Jean-Denis Michat), Robert Martin edition
2 : one piece of your choice (less than 4 minutes long) of « langage actuel » for solo saxophone.

Finale : Paul Creston’s « Sonate », Shawnee Press edition
The Finale will be accompanied by the Ensemble of the Conservatoire National de Musique de Paris in a version created by Hugo Schmitt.
