Stylistic diversity, and especially the fusion of different styles is the trademark of the Alliage Quintet, something reflected in the ensemble`s choice of name: the French word alliage means “alloy”. Thus the saxophone is made from an alloy of different metals, mainly copper and zinc. But the image of an alloy, of blending different elements also refers to the five musicians ideal of a homogeneous ensemble sound and a perfectly-coordinated playing culture.
